The incumbent would be required to implement effective budget planning and scheduling for various channels. Monitor inventory (both series and movies) in terms of expiries, programme costs and alerting department head of potential problems. The incumbent would also be required to liaise with the Programme Scheduling department on all programme changes, research potential international programming for e.tv channels and provide feedback to department head.
-Researching potential international programming for e.tv channels as directed by Manager: Programming and Planning Division.
-Viewing screeners as and when they arrive and briefing Manager: Programming and Planning Division of programming of potential interest
-Requesting information and screeners from distributors and sending feedback to Manager: Programming and Planning Division.
-Monitoring and maintaining the inventory recon of all international programming received and licensed when necessary-Checking existing inventory for slot —-suitability and advising Manager: Programming and Planning Division of potential problems-Monitoring inventory (both series and movies) in terms of expiries, programme costs and alerting Manager: Programming and Planning Division and/or Programme Scheduling of potential problems
-Developing cost effective long term schedules for allocated channel/s with effective cross scheduling techniques.
-Conducting the preparation of monthly schedules under supervision of the Manager: Programming and Planning Division and liaise with the Programme Scheduling department on all monthly/weekly changes
-Generating and analyze channel plans, and scheduling titles in accordance with the channel and/or platform requirements, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations
-Managing and monitoring the budget planning, costs and expiries.
-Assisting other departments (particularly Creative Services, Publicity, Marketing, Online & Commercial Time Sales) on information regarding new international programming
-Playing a supportive role to the Programming and Planning Division
-Ensuring that any programming, scheduling and/or contractual errors or discrepancies loaded in the Broadcast Management System(s) are clearly communicated to the relevant department(s)
-Preparing presentations to be released to internal departments indicating the programming highlights for the month in the schedule
-Having an overall understanding of the operational workflow between Acquisitions, Programme Scheduling, Programming Administration, as well as regulatory compliance and other departments the division works closely with.
4.ACQUISITIONS AND ADMINISTRATION
-Liaising with potential and existing suppliers for screeners.
-Preparing offers to distributors when requested to by the Manager: Programming and Planning Division or Managing Director.
-Assisting in the compilation and distribution of programming reports, including, but not limited to, Inventory Management Reports, Channel Cost Reports, Programming Reports.
A relevant qualification in Marketing, Film and Television, Administration or Legal
A minimum of 3 years in a similar role within a Broadcasting Environment
